What is this metal plate on the stock of my 38 for and also can someone please translate it!

Is this a training rifle, if so does that mean it can't fire? |

Yes, it's a Japanese training rifle. DON'T attempt to shoot it. The markings on the metal tag translate (along the top) "Toyohashi" (city where Kaneyama was located) and along the bottom "Supplied by Kaneyama."

They don't get the respect they deserve, as a whole they are quite affordable since they are typically non-firing, demand just isn't there yet. You can build a very nice collection for $75-$150 each. Chip is working on a massive publication on trainers that will make the various models much more recognizable as to markings, configuration, and quite possibly value.
