do the type 99 and the type 38 interchange??. im new to arisakas and was just wondering. Confused

38 dust covers are 6" and 99 dust covers are shorter, some 99s will accept a 38 dust cover, and some won't. You're better off buying the correct one than trying to grind off the end if its too long. I'll post exact lengths tonight. I've got some extra 38 dust covers, but they aren't very cheap. Trey
