Guys: Look at this, and tell me what the farouk is up with this....It is marked "one shiki" not "two shiki", and there is that line down the middle of the receiver....

I have not gotten an answer from these guys as to the actual condition, and whether the bolt is matching, etc etc...They are notorious for not knowing anything about military guns and mis-stating condition and other little errors...

Sent this to Dale,
...someone just ground the first part of the 2 off. I'd guess they put a center line on there for some nefarious reason and then had second thoughts. It was a straight Type 2, its been dorked with a pretty fair amount by now though, be very afraid.....

It has definately been messed with, probably a long time ago as the bluing appears aged. Probably tried to "clean up" the grinding of the mum area. The long line down the center is odd. Can't figure why that was done.

Guys I was not going to buy this rare jewel, but curious about the wierdness....I will keep the mismatched rat that I have.

This rifle went around for discussion on another board a while back. Someone dinked with it. Maybe they liked the sighting line the knee mortars have or sumpin.
