Guys: I have a KNIL rifle, which was captured and used by the Japanese in WW 2. This one is still in 6,5x53.5 R...It does not have a rod, as the KNIL filled the slots in before WW 2 account corrosion problems. The Japanese modified the upper band to accomodate the Type 30 bayonet.

Have any of you guys ever seen one of these?

(KNIL==KoniglikkeNederlandseIndesLeger) Royal Dutch Indes Army. The semi private army of the Dutch East Indes Company, killed lots of muslims over the years....

This is not a matching gun, but considering the use, it is in fairly good shape.....bore is reasonable.

Dale

nice find, the ones with the modified bayonet lug are really cool..great rifle to have in any condition, especially in 6.5x53 too many of them were modified post war into .303's..Seems to me ,Trey has the original bayonet for one (the dutch 1895 stiletto bayo) with period theatre "trench art" plexiglass grips and pictures, tho Ive been wrong before...very neat guns the rifles or the carbines, and not all that common (tho they are around from time to time) . very neat addition to any "japanese" or pacific war arms collection.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!
