I went to a museum in Sinsheim Germany, the place were the wife fell and broke her leg, which ended most of our travels after that, and look what I found in one of the displays.
The best I could tell about it was that it was a Type 38 Kokura, but could not make out the serial number. It also had what looked to be numbers on the same side of the receiver as the serial number, but father up towards the sight.
Because it was in a case, I just could not see it that good. It did have a dust cover on it

That is pretty neat. Its amazing where these old Arisakas end up. I wonder if that was a 'Finnish' marked gun. I was looking through some pictures a friend took in Cuba at a museum dedicated to the revolution, and there was a rifle that looked suspiciously like an Arisaka in one of the displays.
