Can anyone (Trey) tell me what series rifle in the Blevin's collection has a braided hemp sling on it? Thanks.

Jareth, the only note I have is that 24667 35th series has a 'woven' sling. It seems like I remember it being more along the style of US sailor woven cord than rope or hemp, but I could be wrong. Seems like someone brought a ropehole by with a stock that had a heavy smell of cigarette/cigar smoke, and and a rope sling that smelled much newer than the rifle. I don't believe the rope belonged on the rifle. Sorry, Trey

Thanks Trey. I have a woven/braided hemp sling on a 40th series. Here's Rob's latest http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?t=75942 very close to mine.

Hi all, haven't posted here in a while. I do look in from time to time to see what's goin on. Been trying to cut down on "ass time" (time spent on it!)
Doss called me from the Tulsa show about this rifle & picked it up for me. At the moment, only the sling was what I was after. Then Edokko told me about it being numbered in "kana" to the rifle with the original owner's name on a cloth tag sewn to the sling. The rifle is fully matching & correct (ground, dammit). I think all the screws are still staked in place. It's an instant "favorite" in my collection Very Happy
