With all the variations of grenades coming out of China, I was confused when I got a grenade head without screw holes for holding the head to a stick. Jerry Price provided me with some old Japanese drawings and found out what the head was used for. I duplicated the parts to complete the grenade that was thrown with a sling. The head was glued to the wooden plug and the groove in the base of the grenade and under the wire bale on the wooden plug was for attaching a wrap of string to hold on a waterproof protective cloth. The last picture shows the protective waterproof cloth.

Now George, that is pretty slick, is there an official designation? Do you have any plans to repro them? If so, please put me on the list. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |
