Ok guys we are striking out on these. Here is the 4th and last ID that I have been unable to make. These are really weird. Look at the circle device behind the action of the top example.
Can anyone help ID these rifles?

“Stevens (?) Type Rifle”
Notes:
1) “Stevens” is an educated guess on the translation. We have not been able to identify this rifle and carbine. Note the circular device behind the action on the rifle. This appears similar to early Swiss bolt action rifles. Another possibility is that the action appears similar to the Joslyn Model 1855 breech-loading carbine. However, katakana pronunciation goes something like Steffle or Steefle or some such, according to the text is the Englishman who invented this rifle as noted in the text.
2) The circular device appears not to be a safety, but rather bolt to open the chamber for re-loading. Or.....????
