A friend in Thailand has spotted a Japanese paratrooper steel helmet in a shop in Bangkok. He says the lining is intact. He pointed out that the owners want the equivolent of $400.
He asked if this was a reasonable amount? I am not a helmet collector so I am not up on prices. Can anyone provide advice for me to pass on to him?

If it's not a Nakata repro grab it! Nakata never made copies of the early model with leather neck shield. Originals are worth over $3K |

Well it looks legit to me but this is not my area. The guy who owns the shop has piles of helmets, mostly Vietnam-era U.S. as you can see.
Do you think the Japanese para helmet is legit?

Wow, Its all about being in the right place at the right time if you're the first, but once the 'party starts' you have to be willing to spend the most!
Thanks for the link Jareth. Is there anything good/bad/interesting about either that we should take note of? _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

A wise man once said the only deals he regretted were the ones he sold, and the ones he didn't buy.... _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!
