What are the odds of matching a bolt to a receiver without having headspace problems? I'm thinking of buying a bolt off of E-bay, but I'm wondering how close it will come to working properly in my receiver. Has anyone tried matching differernt number bolts and receivers?
Thanks,

I would extimate one third to one half of all Japanese rifles have miss matched bolts. I would buy the bolt put take the safety and firing pin off and try it with an unfired round. If it closes alright, I would put the bolt back together take to some place safe, tie it to something that will hold it so you can fire it with a string and see what the fired case looks like. I doubt that you will find anything wrong with it. Be sure and look down the barrel for obstruction before firing. riceone. _________________ Most people who preach tolerance are very intolerate. |
