Nice complete find. These are seldom seen in this condition.

I've only just learned that the triangle on the sling appears to indicate a substitute material. In this case canvas is substituted for leather. Learn something every day.

With some study and really good photos you may be able to make out a year date on the sling.

Trey and I looked at it with black light....but that was at the local militaria show, and no time to study the kanji...I will try to figure out what they are later on....

I've seen this one (small/thin) on more Type 14 holsters (2), than rifles.. But, that is just an observation.
