The Knee Mortar book is off to the printer! Entitled “The Knee Mortars of Japan, 1921-1945, The Imperial Japanese Light and Heavy Grenade Dischargers” was authored by Doss White and Mark Strange and edited by Don Voigt.

This volume covers the knee mortar from development through its use in WWII. The book has 68 pages with over 115 pictures and drawings, most in full color. There are five tables and four pages of serial number and configuration data.

Both the T 10 and T 89 knee mortars are covered, along with their many varieties of projectiles.

Chapters include: “The Type 10 light grenade discharger, The type 89 heavy grenade discharger, Ammunition, Accessories, Grenade discharger tactics, The knee mortar in action: US combat reports, Japanese variant and foreign 50mm or 2 inch mortars, and Relics from the Pacific Theater”.

The appendices include: Production tables by manufacturer and date, Views from the Japanese grenade discharger manual, US legal status, and the Data sheet form.

The book also covers the construction and assembly of the two types and a Bibliography for additional reading.

Price is $35 plus US priority mail postage of $5.

Less than five copies left (2/5/14) and one-two are slightly water damaged from the fire. There will not be a reprint, I checked on 50 copies, printer wanted $37/copy! Doss

Doss, you need to shop around for printers. I have one who will print 133 pages in color for $16.00 each.

You've mentioned that there won't be a reprint, but the post is quite old and I want this book, so I have to ask once. Is a copy available for sale?
