Ok guys....thanks for any help/advice

Im trying to ID these markings, but i dont see a Serial # !!!!!!! The mum is intact, followed by 5 Japanese Characters...

On the left side i see a tiny circle with a triangle in it, right below that a character that resembles a "E" . To the left of the bolt on the same side there is a symbol that looks like Koishikawa Arsenal (Tokyo) 1870-1935 or
Kokura Arsenal 1935-1945 from what i found on here, next to that are 2 tiny Japanese characters or proof marks maybe. The Buttstock is missing a lower piece of wood, metal buttplace is dangling only being held on by top screw in plate . Cleaning rod is there , but its only about 5" or so with a pointed tip. Bolt handle has a couple of tiny stampings on it with a #3 . Thats all the markings i see on the rifle at the moment . Bore was stored for 60 years with grease...amazing its in great shape after a brief cleaning..

NO Serial #'s in the obvious places .

JoeZ, welcome to the forum. You have what we call an 02-45, The Type 35 action is Model of 19-02 and the unused-unserialized receivers were in storage untill 19-45 when they were assembled with training rifle stocks and hardware in to functional rifles for training and or emergency use. Hence 02-45 designation. Please download and fill out an 02-45 Datasheet and send to Frank Allan, very desireable rifles...If you get tired of it, let me know. Trey

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Thanks for the info Trey.....Which data sheet for the type 35 ? What do they do with these sheets, create some type of registery ? Pretty interesting idea !!

Any idea of selling price if i were to sell ? I dont need the cash so approximate value for Trade would be good too. I Mainly collect Preban military semi autos from the 1980's - Combloc AK's, Dragunovs, etc...

Thanks again, Joezeta

Joe,
the data sheets are only used to collect info on the configuration of the rifles; you don't need to send under your name.

If you are interested in a trade or selling, please pm me with a list of what you might be interested in.

Joe, use the 02-45 datasheet, and if Frank Allan needs a normal Type 35 datasheet, he'll let you know. I'm not up on current market on them, I've seen them sold for $300-$1200, see some listed higher but don't know if they sold. Only thing I see wrong with yours (other than its not mine) is the missing part of the buttstock which looks to be a pretty big chunk, but could be fixed, sort of. Trey
